June 21st 1999 The white bits basking in the sunshine are the Sea-Monkeys. They are growing at a remarkable rate and have already trebled in size. I fed them for the first time (10 days after hatching) with the food provided in the box. I leave the aquarium on the windowsill during the day and then put it on a shelf in my room overnight so the water temperature does not drop too low. The Sea-monkeys are very active, however I have not taught them any tricks like the booklet suggests.
|
According to the "Official Sea-Monkey Handbook", the babies will eventually mature to 1/4" to 1/2 " in size. I am skeptical but at the same time I never believed they would get this big or even come to life! |

July 3rd 1999 The picture to the left is near enough actual size, and you should be able to spot a dozen or so swimming around. They have grown to at least 1/4" in length and they are very active during the day when I remember to put them on my window ledge..
| I feed the every seven to ten days and I have been adding a spoonful of Plasma every week or so which yields a new crop of babies. The water level is falling so I will have to top it up soon, The instructions recommend distilled water but I will properly just boil some tap water instead and use that | ||
| Well the
box says that the Sea-Monkeys will live for two years so only time will
tell. So long as I remember to feed them I think they will be quite
comfortable in my room.
Everyone died just before Christmas, I left the tank alone for a couple of months, cleaned the water out and added some new eggs. I now have a healthy new crop! |
