My first memories of sea-monkeys take me back to when I was a boy.  Vivid memories of the excitement more than the actual pets, I do not think anything ever hatched when I tried back then, but my enthusiasm fired my imagination and I kept a tank of still water in my bedroom for months.  I think the key comes in keeping the water well aerated.  I have lost several batches of Sea Monkeys since because I have neglected to use my million bubble air pump for more than a couple of days!

I seem to remember ads in comics when I was younger, I found these two pictures from an American site, but the British ads would have been similar.  the ads would have been amongst the "x-ray glasses" and "Secret spy kit" adverts, ads that offered the world for a few pence, +99p package and postage, and delivered nothing...

Sea monkeys are part of many peoples childhoods, and it is great to ask people if they remember them, there are two reactions: 1, "yes, I love them little things, but I have not seen them since I was a kid!" and 2. "Are you of this world?".
